biography
"I am fascinated by the jewel-box that is Killarney, Ontario. This place speaks of wonder and strength. The survival of majestic trees growing against all odds in wind-carved granite and quartz; of their lace-like screen reflecting to the water. How I admire these earth elements and their of our own journey through this world. My motive is to authentically paint moments of time these epic vistas, so that others can use them as healing views to break from the stress of daily life, and help preserve these spaces for future generations."
Year round, Devorah frequents the park via snowshoeing, skiing, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking with her family. Each season bringing its own unique panorama waiting to be explored.
Legacy artist of the Group of Seven, Devorah Gardner's passion is painting the Ontario landscape. Devorah teaches in Southwestern Ontario in the Thames Valley District School Board. Devorah works in an impressionistic style focusing on the colour and movement of trees, rocks and water through different seasons. Similar to Tom Thomson, she builds up her pieces with layers of underpainting that show through, to warm the final piece; each piece, its own journey.
